Dear Hillcrest Students and Parents:
Greetings and welcome to the 2015-2016 school year. I trust and hope that you had an enjoyable summer and are anticipating an exciting school year. All students will begin the school year on Monday, August 17th at 8:00 AM. Please find below some very important information.

New Student Orientation
New student orientation for 7th and 8th graders will be held on Wednesday, August 12, at 2:00 PM. During orientation, the faculty will be introduced, an overview of the student handbook will be provided, the school uniform policy will be reviewed, and the transportation department will be available to answer bus questions. Other important information concerning the opening days of school will be covered as well. Payment of required fees will be accepted in the gym immediately following orientation.
Parents are always welcome at Hillcrest Middle School. We invite our parents to visit their child's class or have lunch with their child. Guests should report to the front office immediately upon arrival and secure a visitor's pass.
Drop off time for car riders is no earlier than 7:30 AM. Adequate supervision is not available before this time. Car riders should be dropped off and picked up in the back of the school at the student drop-off/pick-up area. The entrance to the student drop-off/pick-up area is on Old 521 and goes around to the back of the school. Please do not use the teacher parking lot to drop-off/pick-up students.
All students in Sumter School District will be provided a free breakfast and lunch.

Hey Wildcats!!! Our goal for 2014-2015 was $1500.00! We raised $1,367.20 so we are just $132.80 off. A job well done by ALL this year! But don't stop saving, we need you to save ALL the Box Tops you can over the summer for the 2015-2016 school year! Our first contest will highlight students with the most Box Tops and first, second and third place prizes will be awarded!

ALL seventh graders are REQUIRED to get the Tdap vaccine to protect against whooping cough (pertussis).
Students who have not had a Tdap vaccination may not be allowed to attend school.
